Welcome
Our Second Annual Cow Plop Bingo was a huge success. It was a beautiful warm day with very little wind. An improvement over last year. The other improvement was that within 20 minutes of the cows, Moolah and Patti, being led on the field, there was a plop! Yes…no waiting 1 hour this year. Our newbie cow Patti did the winning plop giving square number 117 majority winner. Pamela Conner held the lucky ticket and won herself $2000. Congratulations Pamela! Here's the winning plop.

This year the club added a 50/50 draw giving everyone a chance to choose which cow was going to give the winning plop and then a ticket would be drawn from that bin. Again, with Patti being the winning cow plopper, our official Cow Plop judge Steve Chisholm from CJWW drew the winning ticket number 0842526 purchased by Candace Odishaw who donated her share totalling $535.00 to The Nutana Rotary Club's partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
This year we had free face painting and petting zoo for the kids. Over 50 children took part in the coloring contest and brought their completed posters in for a free prize. Although you would think the kids had the most fun, there were many adults seen enjoying the petting zoo and even one we caught with a face painting for her birthday.
The entertainment, well that certainly did not disappoint. From cruise ships to Cow Plops, Saskatchewan grown talent Matt Johner put on an excellent show for our guest. Thank you Matt! Loving your current songs on the radio. Now Stan Garchinski never lets the club down with his singing talents and he even brought a guest, his granddaughter, to win over the crowd. Then he took to the arena with CJWW's Steve Chisholm to walk the cows ensuring a successful plop and to successfully judge the winning plop.
Funds raised will benefit the Saskatoon community. The Nutana Rotary Club has committed to $10,000 per year for 5 years to support children registered in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. These children will receive one free, age appropriate book mailed to their home through the program, each month until they turn age 5. Yearly the club continues to also support the Saskatoon Food Bank by way of donation and hands on service. This year the club also supported St. Anne's breakfast school program.
We wish to thank everyone that helped out with the fundraiser. We not only had Rotarians from our club, but a Rotarian from Mexico that spends the summers with us (he's the one that brought us this fundraising idea), a Rotarian from Melfort, a Rotarian from Saskatoon North Club, 2 hard working young ladies from Oskayak High School and friends and family members of the Rotarians. Thank you to Nienhaus farms for provided our two amazing dairy cows Moolah and Patti and Steve Chisholm from CJWW for being our official judge. Thank you to Sutherland School for giving us access to their school yard; to the Sutherland Community Association for allowing us to have the cows in their arena; and to Co-op Saskatoon for allowing us to sit in their stores promoting the event and selling tickets.
Thank you to our incredible sponsors for their cash sponsorships, gift certificates, in-kind services and discounted rates. These sponsors include Saskmilk, Co-Op Saskatoon, Wholesale Club, 24 Hour Signs, 600 CJWW, 98 Cool, 92.9 The Bull, SMP, Rooterman and The Rent-It-Store. 600 CJWW, 98 Cool and 92.9 The Bull went above and beyond with their help promoting the event and with great interviews with Stan. Thank you to Jeff Rogstad for our weather promotion on CTV Saskatoon weather. We hope that we haven't missed anyone, but just know we are grateful for the support we receive here in Saskatoon as The Saskatoon Nutana Rotary Club works for the betterment of the community. THANK YOU AND SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
